You can try biathlon (a sport that combines Nordic skiing and rifle shooting) or improve your skills in these two disciplines. The Nordic skiing areas in Morzine include the Vallée de La Manche sector. This wild valley, without any ski lifts, sits between 1,100 and 1,400 meters in altitude and is the perfect site for discovering Nordic activities. The area features a beautiful cross-country ski trail and a path for walking or snowshoeing. As both share the same track, pedestrians and snowshoers are encouraged to respect the layout of the cross-country trail (double tracks).
You can access the trail on foot from the center of Morzine or directly drive to Erigné or take a free shuttle (Line E). The path follows the Dranse River, making it accessible from the numerous bridges that span the valley.
Several cafes at Erigné or along the path to the Lac des Mines d’Or offer a chance to take a break and grab a bite to eat.
Lake Montriond / Les Albertans (several circuits are available as long as snow cover permits it)
Avoriaz (see https://www.avoriaz.com/en/win... )
Between Pleney and Les Gets: The Pléney-Chavannes sector (accessible via the Pléney Gondola) provides a Nordic space at altitude (1,500m) with quality snow throughout the winter. This sunny area offers beautiful landscapes: at the Pléney lookout, you’ll find a viewpoint table and a stunning view of Mont-Blanc.
